Week 8 Announcements

Last meeting for the fall term —

Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) — Wed, Nov. 20th, Bexell 328 (Moss Adams Classroom) 6-7pm — SEE FLYER

Moss Adams — “Corporate Social Responsibility”

The final presentation for the term will be on corporate social responsibility. Christian Geisman, a Senior Manager from the Seattle Moss Adams office will be joining us.

Corporate Social Responsibility involves businesses active compliance with the spirit of the law, ethical standards, and international norms. Often it includes going beyond compliance and engaging in actions that further some social good beyond the interest of the firm. This aspect of a business can have many business benefits while bettering society at the same time.

Oregon State takes 3rd at Beta Alpha Psi regionals!

Our officers took third place out of seven schools that competed in the Best Practices competition at BAP regionals in Spokane! They discussed commitment and how important it is moving forward in your career. As a retired officer on the heels of my first busy season in public accounting, commitment is very important. I’m glad that those that voted thought so as well! Congratulations officers, you earned it.

CPA Study Options

Becker CPA Review
The first flyer is an online schedule for OSU graduates. Students would view multiple lectures each week to stay on track.
The second flyer is announcing something totally unique for OSU. We’ll be hosting “study hall” sessions in Portland (where you said most students land!) on Saturday mornings during the summer for the online class. Going through so much material in such a short time students are bound to have questions. We’ll have study sessions at DeVry University in Beaverton with live instructors helping students get any concepts they might have struggled with.
