3. Save the date for the 2018 OSCPA Career Showcase on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. This year, the event will be at a new location – Hilton Portland Downtown, 921 SW 6th Ave., Portland, Oregon 97204.
This recruiting event is free to attend, however, we ask that you and your students pre-register. Students will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from local and regional firms, industry organizations and government agencies.
OSCPA student members will be granted early entry to this event to meet with the representatives. Student membership is $25 for the year and in addition to early entry, it includes free registration to several events designed specifically for new professionals. Please encourage your students to join by completing a student membership application.

FROM THE COB ADVISORS:
We have had some very recent changes to the terms ACTG classes will be taught in the fall. Registrations begins this weekend.
· Currently, only section 001, CRN 13921 of ACTG 378 is coded for accountancy students in the fall. This course is offered multiple terms.
· ACTG 424 will only be taught in the fall; NOT in the winter or spring.
· ACTG 420 has been moved from winter to fall term. Will NOT be taught in the winter or spring.
· One section of ACTG 417 has been moved to fall term from winter.
ACTG 417 Advanced Accounting will now offer a fall section in addition to a winter section. This is a required class for some Accounting majors and an elective for others…check your MyDegrees to find out.
As always, check in with your advisor on a regular basis.

The Coaching Program is an opportunity for students and CPA candidate members to meet with an experienced CPA who can help answer their questions about the accounting profession. Participants will learn more about the day-to-day duties of a CPA, refine interview and resume skills, and start building their professional network. The program runs May 1 – August 31, 2018.
Who qualifies to participate?
