Spring Opportunities
1.  Please Join Becker Account Manager, Katie Wilson, to get your questions answered about the CPA Exam!

Navigating state requirements, application process and timeline planning can be confusing and often times frustrating. After talking with a number of students this spring, I have decided to hold a few webinars to walk students through that process, help you create your study plan and get your questions answered!

With finals just around the corner, I realize scheduling may be difficult. Because of that I have decided to hold 4, 60 minute webinars, so you can choose a time that works best for you.

Webinars will be held Tuesday May 23rd at 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM
And Wednesday May 24th at 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM

If none of these times work for you, there is a spot on the RSVP to request a different time, and I will do my best to accommodate student requests.

INTERNSHIP:
INDUSTRY
1.  Pacific Seafood (see flyer)
OSU Alumni — We have recently decided to hire a business administration intern who would report directly to me and I thought you would be a great person to contact given your involvement in the accounting program and Beta Alpha Psi.  The division I personally oversee has over 400 employees and 11 different operating locations along the west coast which are comprised of Oyster and Clam Hatcheries, Farm and Processors.  Our division itself is vertically integrated and is an integral part of the Pacific Seafood Group which is also vertically integrated.  Given the size and the complexity of our business environment I believe this internship position is a great learning opportunity for any student.  Our ideal candidate would be someone within the accounting program who has completed the intermediate accounting series and is excited to learn about accounting practices in industry.

I intend for the position to have a focus in accounting (primarily inventory costing/reporting), financial reporting, as well as reporting operating metrics to our leadership team.  The position will be based out of our headquarters in Clackamas, but there would be plenty of opportunity for the student in this position to travel to our different coastal operations along the west coast and see how our business is run first hand.  The internship program is planned for 10 weeks, but it is is flexible.

Attached is a flier put together by our recruitment team briefly discussing the position along with some of the other opportunities our division has.  I have also included a link to the job description and application below.

Job Opportunities (full-time and internship):
ON CAMPUS:
1.  I work in the accounting department at one of the business centers on campus and my manager is looking for student workers for the upcoming summer. They would probably be using data warehousing software to process documents like invoices and purchasing cards and also running courier. They could work up to full-time if they aren’t taking too many summer classes and I believe it would be minimum wage. My manager asked me to let students know that we were hiring and the position will offer some good accounting experience. Resumes need to be emailed to my manager Dee.Wendler@oregonstate.edu. Thank you for your time and any help you can provide.
Respectfully,
Cade A. Windell

2.  Diversity & Cultural Engagement is searching for a student to work 10-20 hours per week as the Student Accounting Assistant. The position will officially start in summer of 2016, but some training from the incumbent student employee will be required in the late spring. It is preferred that applicants can commit at least two consecutive years to working in the position. A high level of personal and financial integrity is of the utmost importance in this job. This student will be part of a small team within the central office of Diversity & Cultural Engagement. Contact:  Travis Powers, our GTA. His email is powertra@oregonstate.edu
