PCAOB is offering a $10K scholarship to one OSU Students
2019 PCAOB Scholars Program
Oregon State University’s Accounting Program has been selected to be part of the 2019 Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) Scholars Program. One of our students will receive a $10,000 scholarship from the PCAOB.
The PCAOB Scholars Program awards funds to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in an accounting degree program at certain regionally accredited U.S. colleges or universities.
Student Eligibility Criteria Includes:
· Demonstrate interest and aptitude in accounting and auditing as evidenced by an overall GPA of 3.3 or higher or being in the top 1/3 of their overall class
· Demonstrate high ethical standards
· At the time of nomination, not be a PCAOB employee or a child or spouse of a PCAOB employee
· Not have received a scholarship from the PCAOB previously
· Demonstrate financial need (Defined as being eligible to receive a Pell Grant or requiring other Federal financial aid for a significant portion of the expected or actual billed cost of attendance, as determined by the institution).

2. Volunteer
The Corvallis Sister City Association is looking for a new treasurer for their Corvallis-Gondar (Ethiopia) sister city council. This is an excellent volunteer opportunity to apply your accounting skills in service to Corvallis and its vibrant relationships with the people of Gondar, Ethiopia. With supervision and support from the entire council, the treasurer will be responsible for basic accounting and financial duties, including the transfer of funds to partners in Ethiopia. Time commitment averages about 2 hours per week. The council meets every other month. We are seeking someone who can make a 1 or 2-year commitment.
